Privacy Policy

The following statement discloses our consumer privacy practices for EasyReach Corporation. as of October 27, 2005. We do update our policy from time to time so please check back periodically.

General Policy
EasyReach Corporation ("EasyReach") has specifically developed the technology and services underlying our software so that you will be afforded the maximum level of privacy and security. EasyReach understands your desire to protect your privacy and personal information. To demonstrate our commitment to Customer privacy, we have developed a Privacy Policy, a current copy of which is available from almost every page on our Web site by clicking on Privacy Policy in the bottom area of the web pages.

If we decide to change our privacy practices, we will post those changes in our online Privacy Policy, and other places we deem appropriate, so our Customers are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the Privacy Policy under which the information was collected. If, however, we are going to use Customers' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify Customers via email. Customers will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.

However, if Customers have opted out of all communication with EasyReach, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect Customer information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying Customers of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email Customers who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.

For products that are installed on computers, when the program is launched, information is transmitted to our Web site for purposes of determining if there are product updates available. Details of these tranmissions are described below. These transmissions do not contain personal information and will never be revealed to a third party.

Furthermore, if a user configures Remote Access services on the desktop application, those configuration changes are transmitted to our Web site. Details of these transmissions are also provided below.

The EasyReach software that is installed on PCs continually updates your Master Index so that it can instantly organize and present relevant information for you. This information remains on your computer, is strictly confidential, and is never collected by EasyReach or given to any third party.

Disclosure of information to outside parties
EasyReach does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer outside the company ANY personal information that users provide in any instance. This personal Information is used to better understand our user's use of our products, services and web site, to support related transactions made on the site, and to tailor any specific features, promotions, or other notifications to our users.

However, some data, in anonymous (non-identifiable by individual) and aggregate forms, may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising and special offers from EasyReach.

Information exchanged between desktop program and EasyReach Web site

  • Each time the desktop software components are launched, and occasionally if configuration is modified, the program will send a secure transmission to: https://www.easyreach.com/checkforupdates.asp, so that the Web site can verify the license key and determine if a product upgrade is necessary, or desirable.
  • Each time the Next button is pressed on the EasyReach username/password screen, and even if the information is not edited or changed in any way, the program will send secure transmissions to: https://www.easyreach.com/vun.asp, so that the Web site can determine if the user is allowed to make the changes, and then to update the changes in the user's EasyReach account.
  • Each time the Next button is pressed on the EasyReach Remote Access device configuration screen, and even if the information is not edited or changed in any way, the program will send secure transmissions to: https://www.easyreach.com/updateconfig.asp , so that the Web site can determine if the user is allowed to make the changes, and then to update the changes in the user's EasyReach account
  • When Remote Access is configured and enabled, the desktop software will send requests to the EasyReach Web site every 15-60 seconds to determine if any remote search requests are pending.
  • If the desktop processes a Remote Search request, the desktop will send the search results to the EasyReach Web site for delivery to the Remote Access client.
